About Me

A quick look at the work, tools, and mission behind the code

Computer Science student at the University of Maryland, College Park, and a proud member of the University Honors College. I am focused on full-stack software engineering, cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and products that make technical work easier for real people.

My goal is to build excellent software while helping bridge the opportunity gap for underrepresented groups in technology. As president of Code: Black at UMD, I lead a 300+ member CS community centered on professional development, community programming, and diversity-focused technology initiatives.

Amazon — Software Development Engineering Intern, Box Optimization Team

  • Building scalable software for Amazon's Box team to optimize packaging efficiency and reduce environmental impact across global fulfillment operations.
  • Built an AI-powered audit trail system for Amazon's ALIAS packaging service with a real-time event pipeline that lets on-call engineers query complete annotation change history in seconds.
  • Reduced deployment overhead by building a self-updating AWS infrastructure pipeline with automated safety checks and environment-specific rollout policies across beta and production releases.

Amazon — Software Development Engineering Intern, Box Optimization Team

  • Developing scalable software solutions that power Amazon's Box team, optimizing packaging efficiency, and reducing environmental impact across global fulfillment operations impacting millions worldwide.
  • Engineered a cloud-native service using AWS Lambda, AWS SNS/SQS and DynamoDB to replace a server-based troubleshooting tool, enhancing scalability, reducing operational overhead, cutting service latency by 35%, and saving Box Team $100,000+/yr on storage and server maintenance cost.
  • Automated infrastructure deployment with AWS CDK and implemented error-handling monitoring systems and alarms, improving system performance and reducing manual maintenance.
June 2025–Present

Safo Sports Group — Founding Engineer

  • Co-founded Safo Sports Group, an AI-powered NIL platform connecting college athletes with brands through data-driven matching; built the React/TypeScript frontend, Spring Boot backend, and matching service with secure authentication and real-time profile management.
  • Built entire infrastructure-as-code environment on AWS (ECS Fargate, RDS, Redis, ALB, S3) with multi-AZ redundancy and horizontal auto-scaling, increasing reliability and enabling production-ready CI/CD deployments.

My Projects

Selected projects from product, nonprofit, ecommerce, and hardware spaces

NextDoorLearn

Full-stack web application connecting underserved students with volunteer tutors using React, Node.js, Express, and SQLite. Implemented JWT authentication and role-based access control, with tutor discovery, connection requests, profile customization, and a secure messaging system with complete CRUD operations.

React.js Node.js Tailwind CSS SQLite

MyFGI (JP Morgan Code For Good Hackathon)

Developed MyFGI, a platform enhancing financial literacy for the non-profit First Generation Investors. Led frontend development of a centralized student–tutor–admin hub using React.js and SQLite, implementing secure user authentication with React Router and Axios to cut login issues by over 50%.

React.js CSS SQLite

PeterGotKicks

Developed a dynamic sneaker database website with a user-friendly platform for detailed sneaker information, using Express.js and Node.js for server-side routing and HTML/CSS and JavaScript for the UI. Implemented a product pricing feature using Rest APIs for real-time price comparisons from StockX, Goat, and FlightClub, saving users over $100 on some models.

Express.js Node.js HTML/CSS JavaScript Rest API

Mock Hospital Database

Designed and implemented a Hospital Management System using Java Swing for the graphical user interface and Java for the backend, showcasing skills in backend engineering.

Java Java Swing Database Design GUI Development

Water Sampling OTV

Planned, constructed, and developed a specialized Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) for water sampling tasks. Orchestrated AGV navigation to autonomously collect a 20ML water sample, utilizing Ultrasonic Sensor for depth measurement, DIY salinity sensor for water assessment, and integrated Arduino Color Sensor for pollution detection.
